New Power Apps Vibe experience is really a full solution experience hidden under the Power Apps name. (vibe.powerapps.com)

I’ve been part of the private preview for this new functionality and have tried several use cases.  Overall, it’s a great start and really good at giving you ideas for solving your business scenario.

As part of this preview, we’ve had office hours to work with the team, learn new stuff, troubleshooting any issues.  And while specifics are covered by an NDA, I can say that I was asked to present a demo on the most recent call.  I think the request was “can you share something you’ve been working in?”  Sure, no problem.

At the start of the call there’s an agenda and the Julie agenda item says I’m sharing a real-world scenario using this cool preview stuff.

Umm, no one asked it to be real-world.

But maybe it is real-world?

So, the prompt was the same as I did using the (old) new plan designer.

I am Mrs. Claus, and I am making a solution to help my husband Santa Claus plan for his annual deliveries around the world.  I need to be able to track naughty and nice children and their gifts.  The elves love to help.

But this new stuff is different. Way, totally, very different.

You now have so much more when you vibe with Power Apps.  You give your prompt and the response is more than a data model and a list of app ideas.

Let’s go through it together, shall we?

Now Santa is no small operation.  There’s literally billions of records, millions of special activities for Christmas Eve deliveries, all those letters to read and route to elves for manufacturing, and managing the Naughty or Nice list.

Using the same prompt, I had a functioning app with a custom data model, sample data, and a list of technologies that would solve for my business problem.

I clicked “go” and waited just a few minutes while it vibed away.

While I waited, it was hard at work (the elves would be so proud!).

Now…what kind of app can it make in the time it takes to make a cup of coffee?

The data model is a good start.  It needs some tweaking, and I can do that directly with the Vibe experience like our data modeling tools already available.

The list of technology brings together apps, agents and flows to help Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Elves have a successful Christmas Eve, bringing happiness to all.

Sure, I could be super picky about the app it’s produced. But truthfully, it’s the same with apps produced using any tech, with or without the AI-assist.
